The Marquise Shape diamond can be featured either horizontally or vertically, depending on your preference. This cut is a variation of the Round Brilliant Cut, but cannot match it for its brilliance and precision; therefore, the sparkle and dispersion of light will not be of the same intensity – however, the better the precision of cut and proportion, the more intense the brilliance of the sparkle. Along the same lines, the ‘bow-tie’ effect (a dark area across the middle of the diamond) must be minimal (this unfortunately cannot be avoided entirely) and a well-proportioned Marquise Shape diamond will reflect this.
