Oval Shape Diamonds

The Oval Shape diamond is a beautiful cut, its brilliance similar to that of the Round Brilliant Cut diamond, from which it derives its variation. Ovals can be short and fat or long and thin – select entirely at your preference (the longer the shape, the ‘sharper’ the diamond will look; the shorter the shape, the ‘softer’ the diamond will look). Always choose the highest grade, colour and cut that your budget can accommodate. The ‘bow-tie effect’ can sometimes show itself in the Oval Shape cut (a dark area across the centre of the diamond) – this must be minimal, as it will detract from the beauty, brilliance and value of the diamond.
